The State of South Carolina's annual school accountability scores were released today (August 1, 2013), and AHS has done it again! AHS was the highest ranked high school in Horry County School District receiving an "A" with 94.5 total weighted points earned. The rubric for the point rating system is as follows:
90-100 (A): Performance substantially exceeds the state's expectations
80-89.9 (B): Performance exceeds the state's expectations
70-79.9 (C): Performance meets the state's expectations
60-69.9 (D): Performance does not meet the state's expectations
Less than 60 (F): Performance is substantially below the state's expectations.
The letter grades system was first used last year and allows schools to earn points for achievement and growth in the accountability system. The results of state assessments and high school graduation rates are used to determine school grades. For more details on AHS's progress visit HERE.
