FBLA Members Qualify for State Competition

Congratulations to the AHS Future Business Leaders of America members who placed in competition this past Saturday, February 4 at the District Leadership Conference. Makela Rae Toth finished 5th and Delaney Smith 3rd in Impromptu Speaking; Ashley Hucks finished 4th in Personal Finance; Jordan Goewey and Emily Lambert finished 2nd as our Business Ethics team; Trevor Squires finished 1st in Business Math; Alexis Holt finished 1st in Cyber Security. The students have now qualified to move to the state competition next month in Charleston, SC. Good luck to our Blue Jacket FBLA members!!

Academic Team Celebrates (Again)!

 You may remember in November 2011 the AHS Academic Team celebrating bringing home the championship trophy for the Horry County Championship Academic Tournament, but more recently the team members were celebrating in another way. The AHS administration treated the champions to a limousine ride from Aynor High School to the Outback Steakhouse in Myrtle Beach to celebrate their terrific accomplishment. The team will compete in the National Academic Quiz tournament competition in Atlanta, GA over the Memorial Day weekend in May 2012. Members of the team include: Meghan Morrell, Kishan Patel, Dhruv Patel and Alex Garland. The team coach is Ms. Megan Luksa.
