More than 140 Aynor High School Seniors marched across the stage this past Thursday night, June 6 and received their diploma. The AHS graduation ceremony was standing room only in the high school gymnasium where class Valedictorian, Alex Garland, and class Salutatorian, Hunter Windham, each shared with their classmates encouraging words. As the class of 2013 became the newest members of the Blue Jacket alumni, they also earned more than $3 million in scholarships and grants. Numerous students will join the military and enter directly into the work force while others will travel to Yale, Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, Wofford College, University of South Carolina, Clemson, Coastal Carolina, The Citadel and more to begin their post secondary education. Seventy-six percent of the graduating seniors stated they plan to attend a two or four year college/university while roughly ten percent stated they planned to join the armed forces. We wish all the best to the Class of 2013. Go Big Blue!
