Parent Survey (Must Be Completed By Sunday, June 1, 2014)

Blue Jacket Parents: With the district’s new PDL (Personalized Digital Learning) Initiative roll out just around the corner, baseline data is needed about current technology use in our schools. AHS parents are asked to complete a 5 minute survey using this link: www.BByt.es/PA3JP.  These completely anonymous surveys will help our district learn more about Aynor High School needs in order to provide appropriate professional development opportunities for teachers (to help them get the most out of the accessible technology in their classrooms). The survey must be completed no later than Sunday, June 1, 2014. Thank you in advance for your participation and as always for your support of Aynor High School!

AHS Band Ranks Outstanding

The Aynor High School Band Program has been awarded the Outstanding Performance Award, the South Carolina Band Directors Association (SCBDA) announced this week. The Outstanding Performance Award (OPA) is the highest award given by the SCBDA and is awarded based on the proven excellence of an entire band program. The band is under the direction of Mark Mendez.

Bands considered for the award must participate in the SCBDA’s state marching band competition, state concert band festival, state solo and ensemble festival and region/all-state bands. In addition, the bands must rate “Superior” and earn maximum points in three of the four events. The Aynor Band Program scored 97 out of 100 points for the year.

The Aynor High School Band Program is a comprehensive program consisting of a marching band, concert band, a jazz band, a color guard and various chamber ensembles. Students in the band must be active members of the marching band and concert band programs. Students participate in all SCBDA sponsored events as well as various collegiate workshops and band clinics, including All-Region, All-State, All-State Jazz, Solo and Ensemble, CCU Band Clinic.

Way to go Blue Jacket Band!
