Important Upcoming Dates From Aynor High School


#1: Senior class portraits will be made on Monday, August 13 and Tuesday, August 14 by Lifetouch Studios.  Portraits will be made in the auditorium.  Students should report to the auditorium parking lot to check in.  Appointment cards with specific time and date along with portrait details have already been mailed.  Rising seniors should have received this information.  If students have not received this information yet, please contact Lifetouch Studios at 1-800-265-6577 toll free and simply let them know your high school and name. 

#2: Welcome back, AHS teachers!! Tuesday, August 14 teachers return to work. 

#3: Open House and Freshmen Orientation: Come pick up your schedule and meet your new teachers! Thursday, August 16---Open House will be from 4 to 7 p.m.; Freshmen Orientation will be from 6 to 7 p.m. in the AHS auditorium. Freshmen are encourage to still come early and pick up their schedules and tour the school. 

#4: Upperclassmen Drop/Add Day: Friday, August 17 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.; Juniors and Seniors can come to the AHS guidance department and request schedule changes.  

#5: Underclassmen Drop/Add Day: Monday, August 20 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.; Freshmen and Sophomores can come to the AHS guidance department and request schedule changes. 

#6: First day of school: Wednesday, August 22

#7: Underclassmen Picture Day: Thursday, September 6; pictures will be taken during the school day for all Freshmen, Sophomores and Juniors.

#8: Fall Parent/Teacher Conferences: Tuesday, September 25 from 4 to 7 p.m.

News and Updates From Aynor High School

Welcome back to school, Blue Jackets! As the start date for school quickly approaches, students and teachers prepare to return and get back in the books. The first day of school for Aynor High School students is on Wednesday, August 22, 2012. Check out the information below for some news and events that have happened over the summer with our Blue Jacket Family:


#1: Congratulations to our representatives from Aynor High School who participated in the Palmetto Boys State (PBS) this summer at Anderson College in Anderson, SC. PBS is a leadership development opportunity for rising seniors from across the State of SC. The boys learn about leadership, teamwork, the art and science of politics and character development among many other things. AHS students who participated: Kishan Patel, Johnson Holliday, Jeremiah Lancaster, Hunter Windham, Ben Teal, Avery Lambert, Jay Altman, Malik Evans, Alex Garland.

#2: Congratulations to AHS senior, Bridgette Blanton, who was entered and won a brand new car from East Coast Honda/Volkswagen at the start of the summer for having perfect attendance during the 2011-2012 school year. #3: AHS welcomes our new principal, Ms. Janet Lawrence-Patten. Ms. Patten officially began her principalship duties on July 1, 2012 at AHS and is excited to be a part of the Battling Blue Jacket Family!


#4: "A" stands for AWESOME! Congratulations to Aynor High School for being the only high school in Horry County School District to earn an "A" (94.3) on the recently released accountability report for schools in the state. School Registration 2012

School registration will be held for all Aynor area schools (Aynor High, Aynor Middle, Aynor Elementary, Midland Elementary) on Tuesday, July 31, 2012 in the Aynor High School Gymnasium. The times for registration will be from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Registration packets from Aynor High School will be mailed this week (July 23). Parents also have an option this year of registering their child/children online instead of coming to the school gymnasium (NOTE: the online registration option is for high school students only). For access to the online registration and for more information on this option, click here: Online School Registration Information. If parents choose the online option, they will be able to pay the student activity fee ($10) and the student parking fee ($20) online. Any additional fees would need to be paid at the school. For parents choosing to attend the registration day in person on July 31, please make sure to complete the entire registration packet and bring it to the school on this day.

Online Registration Option Available for Aynor High Parents

Horry County Schools will launch online registration for students in grades 9-12 for the upcoming 2012-2013 school year. This new feature lets parents enroll their child from any location where they have Internet access, saving them from waiting in lines and taking time away from work. Parents will be able to update information without filling out multiple forms and they can be guaranteed that their information is safe and protected with the highest standards for security. Class of 2012 Graduation

Congratulations to the graduating class of 2012! One hundred forty-six (146) Aynor High School seniors received their diploma on Thursday night, May 31 in the AHS Gymnasium. The class earned over $2.7 million in scholarship money; over 70% of the graduates plan to attend a two or four year college or university; 4% plan to enter the armed forces; 13% plan to immediately enter the work force. The graduates were cheered on by a standing room only crowd of family and friends in an outstanding graduation ceremony. We wish the class of 2012 best wishes as they launch out of high school and into college and the work force! GO BIG BLUE!!!!!
