Welcome back to school, Blue Jackets! As the start date for school quickly approaches, students and teachers prepare to return and get back in the books. The first day of school for Aynor High School students is on Wednesday, August 22, 2012. Check out the information below for some news and events that have happened over the summer with our Blue Jacket Family:
#1: Congratulations to our representatives from Aynor High School who participated in the Palmetto Boys State (PBS) this summer at Anderson College in Anderson, SC. PBS is a leadership development opportunity for rising seniors from across the State of SC. The boys learn about leadership, teamwork, the art and science of politics and character development among many other things. AHS students who participated: Kishan Patel, Johnson Holliday, Jeremiah Lancaster, Hunter Windham, Ben Teal, Avery Lambert, Jay Altman, Malik Evans, Alex Garland.
#2: Congratulations to AHS senior, Bridgette Blanton, who was entered and won a brand new car from East Coast Honda/Volkswagen at the start of the summer for having perfect attendance during the 2011-2012 school year. #3: AHS welcomes our new principal, Ms. Janet Lawrence-Patten. Ms. Patten officially began her principalship duties on July 1, 2012 at AHS and is excited to be a part of the Battling Blue Jacket Family!
#4: "A" stands for AWESOME! Congratulations to Aynor High School for being the only high school in Horry County School District to earn an "A" (94.3) on the recently released accountability report for schools in the state.
