We the People of the United States, in Order to form a
more perfect Union, establish Justice, insure domestic Tranquility,
provide for the common defence, promote the general Welfare, and secure
the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity, do ordain and
establish this Constitution for the United States of America.Aynor High School spent Friday, September 16 celebrating Constitution Day in each of the Social Studies classes. Constitution Day commemorates the formation and signing of the U.S. Constitution by thirty-nine brave men on September 17, 1787, recognizing all who, are born in the U.S. or by naturalization, have become citizens. Students came to the auditorium where they participated in activities to learn about the Constitution and realize its relevance in today’s society. The students participated in a constitutional discussion with Social Studies teachers Jason Allen and Josh Spivey. Students were also given a chance to respond to surveys in which it had to be decided, via text, if the given scenario was constitutional or not. Students used their cell phones to "vote" on the scenarios. The culminating activity was creating a large collage of pictures and drawings that represent each of the 10 amendments in the Bill of Rights.
