Welcome Back To School!
Aynor High School students will return to school on Wednesday, August 22 for a full day of classes. The Blue Jacket Family would like to welcome everyone back for the start of the 2012-2013 school year. Parents are encouraged to sign up to the Power School Parent Portal to have access to their child's grades, attendance, discipline and more. Contact Peggy Rabon in the guidance office for more information. You can also check out the new and improved AHS website (AHS Website) for the posting of the school's 2012-2013 Student Handbook. GET YOUR GAME FACE ON and come out and support the Jackets for our first home football game this Friday night, August 24 at 7:30 versus Creek Bridge. GO BIG BLUE and welcome back to school!

AHS Open House and Freshmen Orientation
The Blue Jacket Family prepares for the start of another school year in just one week, and in anticipation of the start of school, AHS will be holding Open House and Freshmen
Orientation on Thursday, August 16. Open House will be from 4 to 7 p.m.
and Freshman Orientation will be from 6 to 7 p.m. in the auditorium.
Students will be able to pick up their schedules during this time in the
commons area. We look forward to seeing on Thursday and hope you are
ready for an exciting school year. Go Big Blue!

Important Upcoming Dates From Aynor High School
#1: Senior class portraits will be made on Monday, August 13
and Tuesday, August 14 by Lifetouch Studios. Portraits will be made in the
auditorium. Students should report to
the auditorium parking lot to check in.
Appointment cards with specific time and date along with portrait
details have already been mailed. Rising
seniors should have received this information.
If students have not received this information yet, please contact
Lifetouch Studios at 1-800-265-6577 toll free and simply let them know your
high school and name.

Thursday, August 16---Open House will be from 4 to 7 p.m.; Freshmen Orientation will be from 6 to 7 p.m. in the AHS auditorium. Welcome back to school, Blue Jackets! As the start date for school quickly approaches, students and teachers prepare to return and get back in the books. The first day of school for Aynor High School students is on Wednesday, August 22, 2012. Check out the information below for some news and events that have happened over the summer with our Blue Jacket Family:
#1: Congratulations to our representatives from Aynor High School who participated in the Palmetto Boys State (PBS) this summer at Anderson College in Anderson, SC. PBS is a leadership development opportunity for rising seniors from across the State of SC. The boys learn about leadership, teamwork, the art and science of politics and character development among many other things. AHS students who participated: Kishan Patel, Johnson Holliday, Jeremiah Lancaster, Hunter Windham, Ben Teal, Avery Lambert, Jay Altman, Malik Evans, Alex Garland.
#2: Congratulations to AHS senior, Bridgette Blanton, who was entered and won a brand new car from East Coast Honda/Volkswagen at the start of the summer for having perfect attendance during the 2011-2012 school year. #3: AHS welcomes our new principal, Ms. Janet Lawrence-Patten. Ms. Patten officially began her principalship duties on July 1, 2012 at AHS and is excited to be a part of the Battling Blue Jacket Family!

Congratulations to Aynor High School for being the only high school in Horry County School District to earn an "A" (94.3) on the recently released accountability report for schools in the state.
