Parent-Teacher Conferences, Interim Pickup & Senior College Information

Parent/Teacher conferences will be held on Monday, September 26, 2011 from 4-7pm.  Interim reports can also be picked up during this time. Parents will be able to pick up the interim from their child's first block teacher.  If your child has a coach first block, then they can pick up the interim report in the foyer at the front office. Students whose parents cannot make it to parent-teacher conference night will be able to pick up their interim reports the next day at school.

Attention Seniors and Parents of Seniors!  You are invited to come to the Media Center Lab, Rm. J103, during parent/teacher conferences on Monday, September 26 from 4 to 7 pm.  Computers will be set up and guidance counselors will be available to help you with information about colleges and the college process.  Please come with your questions so we can help make this process less stressful for you and your child. 

Jackets Celebrate Constitution Day 2011

We the People of the United States, in Order to form a more perfect Union, establish Justice, insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defence, promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America.
Aynor High School spent Friday, September 16 celebrating Constitution Day in each of the Social Studies classes. Constitution Day commemorates the formation and signing of the U.S. Constitution by thirty-nine brave men on September 17, 1787, recognizing all who, are born in the U.S. or by naturalization, have become citizens. Students came to the auditorium where they participated in activities to learn about the Constitution and realize its relevance in today’s society. The students participated in a constitutional discussion with Social Studies teachers Jason Allen and Josh Spivey. Students were also given a chance to respond to surveys in which it had to be decided, via text, if the given scenario was constitutional or not. Students used their cell phones to "vote" on the scenarios. The culminating activity was creating a large collage of pictures and drawings that represent each of the 10 amendments in the Bill of Rights. The students did a fantastic job and really seemed to understand how relevant the Constitution is to each of them. Some information in this article provided by: www.constitutionday.com.
